The DEA announced in a press release that this National Prescription Drug Take Back Event was a record setter!\u00a0 893,498 pounds of unwanted medicine\u2014about 447 tons\u2014at almost 5,400 sites spread through all 50 states, beating its previous high of 390 tons in the spring of 2014 by 57 tons, or more than 114,000 pounds!\u00a0 Tennessee was ranked as the 15th highest state in the nation in pounds of medicine collected bringing in 21,229 pounds.\u00a0 Locally, ASAP partnered with Clinton, Oak Ridge, Norris and Oliver Springs Police Departments to bring in over 130 pounds of unwanted prescription medication.\u00a0 ASAP wishes to send a big thank you to all the volunteers that participated in the collection event.<\/p>\n
