2016 Anderson County Ally of the Year First Runner Up Teresa Scott, Ally of the<\/p>\n

The votes are in and the 2016 Anderson County Ally of the Year award goes to Becky Grubb!\u00a0 Becky Grubb competed against other candidates who were nominated for their passion to create a healthy and productive Anderson County. Becky is the office manager at Fox Toyota where she works with her family. She is married to Stanley Grubb and has three children and four grandchildren. Stanley and Becky are active members of Grace Baptist Church where they serve as greeters and small group home hosts. They have served with Lost Sheep Ministries in Knoxville for the past 12 years assisting the homeless and have taken several mission trips with Jesus Centered Ministries.\u00a0 Becky is also a member of the Clinton Civitan Club.\u00a0 \u201cI am very thankful I had the opportunity to partner with ASAP for the prevention of drug misuse in our community. ASAP is a great organization with great leadership, dedicated volunteers, and support from our local police departments. Good families deal with this epidemic on a daily basis. Thank you ASAP for fighting drug misuse in our community!\u201d<\/p>\n

Our first runner up is Teresa Scott; a county commissioner, member of the Underage Drinking Task Force, and sits on the Oak Ridge Beer Board.\u00a0 Our second runner up is Kim Pouncey; she is the President of Straight Up LLC who specializes in training responsible alcohol vendors in our area, a member of the Underage Drinking Task Force, and sits on the Sustainability Committee for ASAP.<\/p>\n

Each candidate conducted their own campaign, but all of the candidates were united by one goal: to use their leadership, influence and communication skills to raise funds to help prevent and reduce substance misuse in Anderson County.\u00a0 Over $7,000 was raised during the month and a half campaign, all of which will stay in Anderson County to support ASAP\u2019s mission to prevent and reduce youth substance misuse in Anderson County by collaborating with community partners to implement effective intervention strategies.<\/p>\n

All the candidates for Ally of the Year were recognized at ASAP\u2019s annual awards banquet on Friday January 29th<\/sup>. \u00a0ASAP also recognized the recipient of the 2016 Power Partner Award as Vaughn Becker, Clinton Assistant Chief of Police.\u00a0 By his work, our community is a safer, healthier place, and adolescents have a better opportunity for success.\u00a0 This year, ASAP is also thrilled to have another volunteer receive the Kris Stults\u2019 Distinguished Service Award for accruing over 200 hours of community service.
