{"id":1491,"date":"2015-10-05T10:07:05","date_gmt":"2015-10-05T14:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.asapofanderson.org\/?p=1491"},"modified":"2015-10-05T10:07:05","modified_gmt":"2015-10-05T14:07:05","slug":"asap-of-anderson-county-partners-with-local-law-enforcement-and-dea-for-an-operation-rx-drug-take-back-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asapofanderson.org\/es\/asap-of-anderson-county-partners-with-local-law-enforcement-and-dea-for-an-operation-rx-drug-take-back-event\/","title":{"rendered":"ASAP of Anderson County Partners with Local Law Enforcement and DEA for an Operation Rx Drug Take-Back Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, September 26, 2015, ASAP of Anderson County partnered with Clinton Police Department, Oak Ridge Police Department, Anderson County Sheriff\u2019s Department, and the DEA to hold Operation Rx in Anderson County as part of the DEA\u2019s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.\u00a0 ASAP coalition volunteers, South College School of Pharmacy students and law enforcement officers collected medicine at both Oak Ridge and Clinton Police Departments; accepting unused medication of all kinds.\u00a0 Medicine collected during the event will be properly disposed of in a safe and environmentally friendly way.<\/p>\n<p>Operation Rx is and ongoing program set up to give all members of the community a safe and convenient way to dispose of unused or expired medication.\u00a0 Saturday\u2019s event had a great response collecting over 60 pounds of medicine.\u00a0 \u00a0Throughout the last year Operation Rx has been able to safely dispose of over 2,000 pounds of unused medication that citizens dropped off at one of the 5 permanent medicine disposal bins located in the county at Clinton Police Department, Norris Police Department, Oak Ridge Police Department, Oliver Springs Police Department and Rocky Top Police Department.
